An Inquest jury at Bristol Coroners court recently concluded that there were serious health and safety failures that led to the death of a member of the public visting the Concorde aircraft in September 2004. Christopher Taylor represented the family of the deceased at the 6 day Inquest which culminated in an Open verdict on Monday 9th June. The jury were critical of the lack of any proper risk assessment and the failure of those involved to properly liaise on health and safety matters. They considered that there was an unsatisfactory breach of the duty of care owed to the 74 year old disabled visitor who fell through the gap that existed between the newly built gantry and the middle door of the aircraft. The other parties represented at the Inquest were Airbus UK Ltd, Bristol Aero Collection, the HSE and two employees of Airbus UK Ltd.
