Despite the rather early 7:30am start the Queen Square Chambers’ Employment Law Club Breakfast held on the Glass Boat on Friday 9th March was extremely well attended by representatives from firms from across the city and beyond and the feedback received has been very encouraging with people clearly having enjoyed the mix of a hearty breakfast, good company and an element of practical information. The continued support of this popular event reflects the enthusiasm and commitment demonstrated by practitioners operating in this specialist and rapidly changing area of law.
The Breakfast was hosted by Stephen Roberts and the popular and well received 10 – 15 minute ‘update’ slot was presented by Rebecca Dennis, both from the Queen Square Employment Team. In her inimitable, amusing, yet relevant, style Rebecca referred to the following cases of interest:
- Caterpillar Logistics Services (UK) Ltd v Paula Huesca De Crean EWCA Civ 1671
- HM Land Registry v Benson & Ors UKEAT/0197/11/RN
- Capita Hartshead Ltd v Byard UKEAT/0445/11/RN
With the intention of ensuring that this is an event to be organised on a rolling 6 monthly basis, the next Breakfast will take place in September 2012 and invitations with details of time and venue will be sent out in due course.
We very much hope that we might look forward to a similarly large attendance at the next Breakfast – and, indeed, at our April Employment Law Seminars (details of which can be found here), but in the meantime please feel free to contact us at email@example.com if you have queries regarding the Employment Team members, seminars/in-house training or any other employment related matters.
