Chris Smyth has extensive experience as an, both prosecuting and defending, and has appeared in many high profile and serious cases. This has included criminal and regulatory enforcement proceedings in the Magistrates Court and Crown Court relating to environmental protection, waste disposal, trading standards, statutory nuisance, abatement notices, planning and building regulation control, health and safety and evasion of excise duty.
Chris was admitted as a solicitor in 1983. In 1994 he was made a partner at BLB Solicitors (offices in Trowbridge, Bath, Bradford on Avon and Swindon) where he attained higher rights of audience in both criminal (1995) and civil (2004) proceedings. Chris remained with BLB until he was called to the bar in 2006 when he joined Queen Square Chambers and began practicing with immediate effect.
