David Martin

David Martin practised from 1969 until 1976 at 2 Kings Bench Walk, Temple, London, Chambers with strong Western Circuit connections.

From 1976 until 1987 he was a full time working director in the family caravan and holiday business based in Exeter. This has provided him with specialised knowledge of commercial life, of particular help in frauds / thefts relating to businesses.

From 1987 until 1998 he was a Member of Parliament (Portsmouth South), serving for four years as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Rt Hon Douglas Hurd MP when the latter was Foreign Secretary. He also served for four years on the Select Committee for Statutory Instruments.

In 1998, David Martin resumed practice at the Bar in Bristol and is available for work on the Western Circuit, Wales and further afield.
