Gareth joined the Bar after leaving the British Army and specialises in personal injury and employment law.
Employment Law
He has appeared in Employment Tribunals on a broad spectrum of issues, including discrimination (sex, race, disability and age), unfair dismissal, redundancy, equal pay, unlawful deduction of wages, whistle-blowing and matters relating to the TUPE Regulations. His practice is equally split between acting for claimants and respondents and Gareth has represented both large corporations and groups of Claimants.
He has also been instructed in Employment Appeal Tribunal matters and has appeared before the Civil Services Appeals board.
Notable Cases
An appeal to the Employment Appeal Tribunal in relation to an ambiguous resignation.
Acting for the claimant, a Muslim woman, in a claim for sex discrimination against her Muslim employers.
A claim for sex discrimination with a value of over £200,000.
Following a number of tribunal hearings Gareth has advised on changes to their policies and procedures.
