Joanna joined Queen Square Chambers as a tenant in September 2005 after successful completion of pupillage. She practises exclusively in all aspects of Family Law, across the Western Circuit.
Children - Public
Extensive experience of acting in care proceedings, for local authorities, guardians, parents and other family members, and appears in the Family Proceedings Court, County Court and High Court. She has recent experience of acting in matters involving chronic neglect, serious sexual abuse, non-accidential injury and fictitious or induced illness.
Joanna has a particular interest in cases with an international element, having previously practised in Immigration and Asylum Law.
Children - Private
Frequently instructed in a full range of CA 1989 matters, including residence, contact, specific issue, prohibited steps and removal from the jurisdiction. She has experience of complex cases involving allegations of sexual abuse of children, rape within parental relationships and domestic violence; and has conducted numerous fact-finding hearings.
Ancillary Relief
Regularly advises and acts in all stages of ancillary relief and financial disputes arising out of cohabitation. Joanna also accepts instructions in TOLATA and Sch 1 Children Act matters.
Domestic Violence and Injunctions
Extensive experience of non-molestation and occupation injunctions, and related proceedings, including transfer of tenancies.
Joanna is happy to advise in conference and in writing in all areas of her practice.
