Before joining the Bar, Mark had a successful career at Lloyd's of London, where he was a specialist in the North American reinsurance market for a leading international broking house. He travelled extensively and for a time lived and worked in New York.
Mark undertook a 12 month pupillage at 3 Verulam Buildings, a leading commercial/banking set. There he had wide-ranging exposure to insurance, banking, general commercial and professional negligence law.
Before joining Queen Square, Mark was a member of the General Council's department at the Financial Services Authority (FSA). There he was responsible for drafting the rules for the Financial Ombudsman Service. Mark was also seconded to HM Treasury where he worked in the Financial Services and Markets Act team.
Mark is pleased to accept instructions in a variety of areas. Given his background, he has a particular interest and specialist knowledge in insurance and financial services related matters.
