Housing & Residential Landlord & Tenant:
Oliver Willmott acts for both landlords and tenants having experience of the following areas-
- nuisance possession hearings, including claims for a demoted tenancy, and claims in which the factual allegations are many and extend over a period of years, notably appearing for the local authority in the lengthy case of Bristol City Council v Hodgkins;
- appeals to the County Court pursuant to section 204/204A of the Housing Act 1996 and
- obtaining ASBOs (both on freestanding applications and in applications associated to other proceedings) and ASBOs.
Crime:
Oliver Willmott prosecutes and defends with a particular interest in regulatory offences and cases of money laundering and fraud. He has experience of the following areas-
- regulatory work including: offences contray to the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, Trademark offences, Food Safety Act offences and Waste Management Offences;
- fraud including offences contrary to the Insolvency Act 1986 and Companies Act 1985; also benefit fraud and
- money laundering.
