An established criminal practitioner with substantial experience in all aspects of criminal defence and prosecution work, but with particular expertise in prosecuting and defending offences of rape, sexual offences against children; and internet pornography. He has prosecuted offences of people trafficking; defended and prosecuted in numerous cases involving historic sexual abuse allegations; and multiple complainant rape cases involving both adult and child complainants.
Robin is also experienced in dealing with cases that involve a large volume of material and numerous defendants. in 2010 he was junior counsel defending in a conspiracy to import 10 tonnes of cannabis (R. v. B and others); defending in a multi-defendant heroin and cocaine drug conspiracy in Newport (R. v. LM and others) and Bristol (R. v. G); and most recently defending in a multi defendant million pound Trading Standards prosecution (R. v. F and others). He has dealt with VHCC contracts. He has also prosecuted offences of attempted murder as leading junior. He has been involved in cases involving national press interest (R. v. Saaf).
In addition he carries out a full range of regulatory work such as animal movement regulations; poaching; unsafe practices by retailers such as tattoo shops; and the handling and keeping of explosives. He has prosecuted for Trading Standards and Local Authorities and defended in cases involving trademark infringement and goods sold on E-Bay.
Robin also lectures on firearms legislation and frequently represents both the police and gun owners on applications and appeals involving firearms licensing. he has also lectured on The Countryside and Rights of Way Act.
